“Is Khabib returning?” Commentary from fans in response to Chael Sonnen’s mysterious “surprise” tweet regarding UFC 300, which hinted to an update on Belal Muhammad

Fans have gone into a frenzy as a result of Chael Sonnen’s most recent tweet on X about UFC 300. A former fighter for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) recently came to the social media site to pose a mysterious query to fight fans. He urged people to ask the appropriate questions regarding the important event associated with the promotion.

There is no doubt that UFC 300 is one of the events that mixed martial arts fans are looking forward to the most this year. A fight card that is likely to feature high-profile fighters engaging in blockbuster bouts is expected to be displayed at the historic event that is scheduled to take place on April 13 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

However, fans have expressed some degree of dissatisfaction due to the fact that the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has been slow to announce the main and co-main event fights for such a large show. Despite the fact that many people believe that a battle for the welterweight title between Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad could be the main event of UFC 300, there has been no official confirmation of this yet.

During a recent post on X, Sonnen made the observation that fans are not asking the appropriate questions in relation to the upcoming UFC 300 event. He made a guarantee to the fans that they will have a full understanding of the “surprise” that is in store for them once they discover the reason why Muhammad had not been announced as one of the event’s headline fighters. As he wrote:

Because you are not asking the appropriate questions when you are talking 300. Behal, as you may know, was not confirmed. How come? Once you have it figured out, you will be able to figure out what your surprise is. “Have fun, Marques.”
In a short amount of time, fans swarmed to the comments area of the post in order to share their reactions to Sonnen’s mysterious message.

It was speculated by a fan that Islam Makhachev, the current champion of the 155-pound division, might step up to the welterweight division and battle Edwards rather than Muhammad:

“Islam vs. Leon for UFC 300.”

Another supporter inquired about the possibility of Khabib Nurmagomedov making a comeback and wrote:

UFC 300 to feature first all-Chinese championship fight between Zhang Weili and Yan Xiaonan

Most recently, Dana White made the announcement that an exciting title battle will take place at UFC 300 in the month of April. It was disclosed by him that Yan Xiaonan has been scheduled to battle Zhang Weili, the current champion of the strawweight class, for the title of strawweight champion.

This fight between Weili and Xiaonan will be significant since it will be the first time that two Chinese fighters would compete against each other for a UFC title. Additionally, Charles Oliveira and Arman Tsarukyan, Jiri Prochazka and Alexsandar Rakic, Aljamain Sterling and Calvin Kattar, and Bo Nickal and Cody Brundage have already been confirmed as the fights that will take place at the UFC 300 event. This is the fifth matchup that has been announced for the event.

In August of last year, Weili defeated Amanda Lemos via unanimous decision, becoming him the first Chinese-born fighter to ever win a title in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). During this time, Xiaonan most recently defeated Jessica Andrade by knockout in the first round at UFC 288 in May of last year.
