Although it is undeniable that Nieky Holzken takes pleasure in the money he earns from fighting, financial gain is in no way the driving force behind his decision to continue putting his body in harm’s way.
After an absence of more than a year from the ring, ‘The Natural’ will make his comeback for a kickboxing match against the outstanding German fighter Arian Sadikovic. The two strikers will be competing in ONE Championship’s return to the illustrious Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, which will be broadcast on Prime Video. The event is titled ONE Fight Night 11. After more than 100 career fights in his successful career, Holzken spoke about what motivates him to keep coming back for more in an interview that took place just before his highly awaited homecoming.
“I don’t come for money fights, you know, I come for legacy, and I come to win… you know that I have a good name in the kickboxing world.”
In his seventh appearance in the promotion, Nieky Holzken will try to win his 95th race of his career. Arian Sadikovic, who is very inexperienced in ONE Championship, will serve as the opponent that he must overcome in order to accomplish that goal. To this point, ‘Game Over’ has fought twice inside the squared circle, and his first bout, which took place against Mustapha Haida in 2021, resulted in an outstanding unanimous decision victory. In April 2022, he made a comeback for a match against the defending two-sport ONE world champion Regian Eersel, but he was unable to prevail and ended up losing the fight by decision.
The main event of the evening will feature Regian Eersel defending his ONE lightweight Muay Thai world championship against Russian newcomer Dmitry Menshikov. This fight will take place on the same night as Nieky Holzken and Arian Sadikovic face off against one another.
On June 9, subscribers in North America to Amazon Prime Video will be able to watch ONE Fight Night 11 live and for free during primetime in the United States.
