Kade Ruotolo discusses the ways in which his training for ADCC and ONE Championship matches are different.

Published:

Recently, Kade Ruotolo gave some insight into the differences between fighting at ADCC and ONE Championship and how those variables have affected his training. Specifically, he focused on how the variances have affected his cardio.

On Friday night, the defending ONE lightweight submission grappling world champion, Ruotolo, will make his return to the ring to defend his title against the Norwegian veteran, Tommy Langaker. The return of ONE Championship to the illustrious Lumpinee Boxing Stadium will be the co-main event of ONE Fight Night 11 on Prime Video, which will feature both of these submission superstars.

Before making his long-awaited comeback, Kade Ruotolo gave an interview in which he discussed the distinctions that exist between fighting in submission grappling under the ONE Championship banner and competing in more traditional competitions such as ADCC:

According to what Ruoloto shared with the Jiu-Jitsu Times, “With ADCC, there are points, so you’ve got to practice really stabilizing the positions.” “There are no points in ONE; it’s all about submissions,” so “all I’m going to be doing is practicing hunting for submissions and completing them,” she said.

As a result of ONE Championship’s emphasis on submissions, grappling has become considerably more accessible to fans, particularly those who are just beginning their exploration of the art form. This is especially true for newcomers. As a direct consequence of this, the sport has experienced meteoric growth on a global scale, with ONE world champions Kade Ruotolo and Mikey Musumeci at the vanguard of the movement.

Tommy Langaker’s goal is to add his name to the list of people who have defeated the 20-year-old BJJ prodigy by pulling off what many people would regard to be a monumental upset. On his way to his first shot at the ONE global title, Langaker earned victories over Renato Canuto and Ualiz Kurzhev, extending his winning streak inside the squared circle to a perfect 5-0.

On June 9, subscribers in North America to Amazon Prime Video will be able to watch ONE Fight Night 11 live and for free during primetime in the United States.
