Tagir Khalilov is living proof that gTiger Muay Thai has always been the training ground for some of the top fighters in the world, and he was one of those fighters.

Ahead of his pivotal Muay Thai fight against Superlek Kiatmoo9 at ONE Fight Night 12 this Friday, during US primetime, at the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, the Russian knockout machine has set up shop in a gym in Phuket. The fight will take place at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium.

Khalilov, who is the main event of his debut ONE Championship card, will have the best chance of his career to become the ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion when he competes in Bangkok against the current holder of the title.

In spite of the fact that he did some preliminary work in his home country of Russia, training at Tiger Muay Thai has provided Khalilov with a significantly larger toolkit with which to contend with Superlek.

During an interview with ONE Championship, Khalilov stated the following:

“Of course, I am aware of their support because these individuals are so willing to be of assistance to me… It is comforting to know that when you travel to another nation to train, there are already guys there on whom you can rely and who are willing to assist you. It is a significant advantage in the training.”

Fabricio Andrade, world champion in the bantamweight division of ONE Championship, and Anatoly Malykhin, world champion in both the light heavyweight and heavyweight divisions of ONE Championship, call Tiger Muay Thai their home gym.

The gym is also a popular destination for fighters who are interested in honing their striking skills whenever they find themselves in Thailand.

Therefore, Khalilov takes pleasure in being in the renowned stable so that he can perfect his skills against Superlek.

As a result of his recent first-round knockout victories over Chorfah Tor Sangtiennoi and Black Panther, the fighter known as “Samingpri” has earned the unofficial moniker of “Thai Killer” within the sport of Muay Thai.

If Khalilov is able to add Superlek to his list of victims, he will almost certainly be granted the opportunity to challenge Rodtang Jitmuangnon for the world title in the flyweight division of Muay Thai held by ONE Championship.

All ONE Championship Amazon cards, including ONE Fight Night 12, are streamed live and for free to Prime Video users in North America. This includes ONE Fight Night 12, as well.
