Danielle Kelly discloses that the fortunate charm she received from Eagles center Jason Kelce bears the inscription “Good luck, kick butt.”

Danielle Kelly, the newly crowned atomweight submission grappling world champion, was overjoyed to get some words of encouragement from NFL player Jason Kelce.

Before Kelly went back to the Circle at ONE Fight Night 14, she went to the premiere of Kelce’s new Amazon Prime documentary. There, she had the opportunity to speak with the Philadelphia Eagle’s top player and get an autograph from him.

“I’d want to give a shout out to Jason Kelce. Kelly revealed this information during her appearance at the post-fight news conference. “I found a football they gave me from the documentary that I went to and he signed my football saying ‘Good luck, kick butt,'” Kelly stated.”That really meant a lot to me because he took like two or three minutes of his time even though he is extremely busy to wish me good luck and tell me to go out there and the noise doesn’t matter. He is extremely busy.” She went on to say that it was “really cool” that someone like him had given her those words.

Danielle Kelly earned both redemption and the inaugural ONE Atomweight Submission Grappling World Title when she returned to the Circle for a long-awaited rematch against Jessa Khan, who held the IBJJF world championship at the time of the bout. Kelly put on a magnificent performance for the whole ten minutes of the bout and won by unanimous decision.

As a result of the victory, Kelly maintained her perfect record in ONE Championship competition and cemented her place in the annals of the promotion’s history as the first queen of submission grappling.

After a disappointing performance in her eagerly anticipated first promotional appearance, Cambodian-American Jessa Khan will have to start from scratch in order to improve. Considering that she defeated Kelly in 2021, there is a possibility that the two jiu-jitsu all-stars will compete against one other again in the future.

In North America, you can watch the replay of ONE Fight Night 14 whenever you want, on demand, with Amazon Prime Video. This is convenient if you wanted to catch up on any of the action but didn’t get a chance to, or if you simply want to remember an unforgettable night in the history of ONE Championship.
