BREAKING: Francis Ngannou vs. Anthony Joshua fight on the table for summer 2023

Since the UFC made the announcement of Francis Ngannou’s departure due to unsuccessful contract negotiations, he has been a hot topic in the media. The UFC’s hesitation to pursue the possibility of booking boxing matches may have contributed to Ngannou’s decision to leave the promotion.

Despite initially intending to fight fellow heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, Ngannou recently challenged Anthony Joshua to a fight because he is now free to pursue opportunities outside of the UFC. To the joy of Ngannou’s supporters, Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn has offered a significant update regarding a potential fight between the two competitors.

Eddie Hearn responded when asked about the prospective Francis Ngannou vs. Anthony Joshua matchup on Fight Hub TV:

“I believe Anthony Joshua’s (AJ’s) top aim is to win the world championship once more. I discussed it with Francis Ngannou. On April first, AJ will return. Joshua vs. Ngannou could take place in the summer. We’ll have to wait and see, but it’ll be a huge event. I enjoy Francis. He’s a terrific man, in my opinion, and he’s in a great place.”

Hearn earlier said that Joshua vs. ‘The Predator’ might be “one of the biggest matches that could be made in any sort of sport” in an interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour. He also expressed his admiration for Ngannou’s business acumen.

Francis Ngannou once hailed Anthony Joshua as a very skilled boxer

Following the announcement of his resignation from the UFC, Francis Ngannou is eager to secure a boxing battle within the coming year. The Cameroonian has also gotten in touch with Eddie Hearn, a well-known boxing promoter, to plot a course for him in the sport.

The Predator talked about some of the best heavyweight fighters in the world in a video that was posted on his YouTube page. He proclaimed Tyson Fury to be the finest fighter of the time, without a doubt. Following his UFC retirement, “The Gypsy King” has also indicated interest in taking on Ngannou.

Ngannou continued to compliment Anthony Joshua in the same video, who had previously held the WBA, WBO, IBF, and IBO titles twice:

“Anthony Joshua is a very polite and talented man. I’ve been following Joshua for a while. He is an excellent boxer in terms of skill. good overall health and everything. I don’t know him personally, but based on what I’ve seen so far, I’d say he seems like a lovely guy. He has a lot of energy. He strikes hard. I observed a few of his battles. He shown that he can strike and take punches even when he was fighting Klitschko. He has an excellent chin.”
