As a former UFC light heavyweight champion who recently shared a promotional poster for his new restaurant on Instagram, Tito Ortiz has made a foray into the food and beverage industry.
The 48-year-old, who has a career record of 21-12-1 with ten knockouts, is regarded as one of the forefathers of the combat sport of mixed martial arts. In 2000, Ortiz won the light heavyweight title by defeating Wanderlei Silva after making his UFC debut in 1997. He was no longer with the promotion in 2012, and he is now a Combate Americas signee.
However, it appears like Tito Ortiz is prepared to enter the hospitality industry. The Huntington Beach Bad Boy recently revealed a look at his next eatery, Tito’s Cantina, in Cape Coral, Florida, on Instagram. The poster made it clear that Mexican food was the restaurant’s specialty and who the owner was.
The post’s heading read:
In his current three-fight winning streak, Ortiz has defeated Chael Sonnen and Chuck Liddel twice each, in 2018 and 2017, respectively.
Tito Ortiz defeated legendary fighters including Ken Shamrock, Forrest Griffin, Chuck Liddell, Chael Sonnen, Stephan Bonnar, Vitor Belfort, and Wanderlei Silva while competing in the UFC.
When Tito Ortiz named Michael Chandler as his favorite fighter to watch in the UFC
Due to his aggressive fighting style and willingness to engage in combat with his opponents in the octagon, Michael Chandler is recognised as one of the most entertaining athletes competing in the UFC. Unsurprisingly, in four of his previous five appearances, “Iron” has received a “Performance of the Night” or “Fight of the Night” bonus.
Even former UFC champion Tito Ortiz was amazed by the lightweight’s quick reflexes. The 48-year-old was questioned by Helen Yee last year about his favourite combatant to watch. When speaking about Chandler’s spectacular knockout victory over Tony Ferguson at UFC 274, Ortiz said:
“one of my current fave shows to watch? My choice would be Michael Chandler. His career’s transformation alone has been incredible. It demonstrates that perseverance is truly rewarded. And I was in awe of the knockout he achieved against Tony. Ferguson has never experienced such a knockout.”
In his last five UFC fights, Michael Chandler has gone 1-3, and he has been actively chasing a matchup with Conor McGregor for 2023. At UFC 281, he last faced Dustin Poirier, and lost by third-round submission.
