“Go get it, you Viking champ!” – There is a lot of anticipation among the audience for Smilla Sundell’s fight against Allycia Hellen Rodrigues.

Published:

In a fortuitous change of circumstances, Smilla Sundell, the reigning ONE women’s strawweight Muay Thai world champion, is scheduled to defend her title against a new opponent this Fall. The fight will take place at the ONE Championship in Bangkok, Thailand.

It had been planned that the rising star, who is only 18 years old, would compete against the American-Filipino challenger Jackie Buntan, but regrettably, Buntan had to pull out of the fight due to “family matters.”

Although the two world champions have never faced each other in competition before, there is no doubt that tension will mount between them in the days running up to their match for the global championship.

Especially considering that Rodrigues has more than sufficient time to develop the ideal game plan in order to become a unique two-division world champion, whilst Sundell continues to exert effort in order to maintain her title.

Although both ladies have a lot to give, there can only be one victor in this competition. Fans have already begun making their choices on social media despite the fact that the news of their battle was just made this week on Instagram.

The Storm Called Hurricane Smilla Sundell is a once-in-a-lifetime athlete who has become an instant sensation in the world of combat sports thanks to her indelible talent as a professional Muay Thai competitor.

At the age of 16, she became a top-ranked contender in the women’s featherweight division of the WBC, which is one of the greatest pinnacles that can be attained in any Muay Thai career.

When she joined with ONE Championship in 2022, it was another evidence of her desire to dominate at a world-class level and to excel at anything she does.

She earned the world championship chance of her dreams against Jackie Buntan at ONE 156: Eersel vs. Sadikovic in April 2022 by knocking out Australia’s sweetheart Diandra Martin in her maiden fight. The fight took place at ONE 156: Eersel vs. Sadikovic. She prevailed against the highly-touted American-Filipino fighter over the course of five rounds of heated competition, taking home the championship title by virtue of a unanimous decision.

On Friday, September 29, at ONE Fight Night 14, which will be televised live from the Singapore Indoor Stadium, the adolescent prodigy will defend her ONE women’s strawweight Muay Thai world championship against Allycia Hellen Rodrigues. The fight will take place in the women’s strawweight division.

Fans in North America who have a membership to Amazon Prime Video will have access to a live broadcast of the main event at no additional cost.
