In 2019, Shakur Stevenson defeated Joet Gonzalez to win the WBO featherweight title. The following year, in 2021, he defeated Jamel Herring to win the WBO super featherweight title. Now, Stevenson is competing for the third WBC title, a move that was caused by the fact that Devin Haney moved up in weight class in order to fight Regis Prograis for the super lightweight gold. Stevenson’s opponent for the third WBC title is Regis Prograis.
Edwin de los Santos, meantime, won three matches in a row after suffering a loss by split decision to William Foster III in January 2022. These victories helped Edwin de los Santos bounce back from the defeat. After standing in for Frank Martin in a previous battle, this will be de los Santos’ first title fight. He is rising to the challenge after being given the opportunity.
