When Khabib Nurmagomedov inadvertently acknowledged to illegally downloading UFC fights, he was immediately stripped of his title.

Khabib Nurmagomedov, a former champion of the UFC’s lightweight division, accidentally divulged in a conversation that he had access to an illegal link that allowed him to view UFC bouts. The dialogue was actually rather funny.

After a session at the American Kickboxing Academy (AKA), Khabib, Daniel Cormier, and a number of other competitors found themselves on the wrestling mats on one occasion. It appeared as though Cormier was discussing how users of the ESPN app could purchase pay-per-views and events involving the UFC.

At this point, Khabib uttered the following:

“There is a connection to Russia. Never give money to your brother.”

When considering the stance that UFC President Dana White takes on the issue of illegal streaming, this may come across as fairly contentious. White has stated on multiple occasions that he has spent resources into the process of bringing unlawful streams to justice.

In point of fact, White brought attention to the dangers of illegal streamers by discussing them in an interview, claiming that many of these services were scams. He said:

Now that I have males…This is my favorite, you should give it a listen. There’s a guy standing here right now, just after I said this stuff literally. If you head over to my Instagram and read over some of the comments there. He recommends that you direct message me if you are interested in participating in this week’s bouts. He is stealing information from other people.

“Consequently, those individuals who are direct messaging him are having their information stolen. He is deducting funds from your bank account and making charges on your credit card. These jerks are the lowest of the low, criminal scumbags. That is a bunch of filthy illegals. These scumbags are crooks, and they should be avoided at all costs. They are the villains.

If Khabib Nurmagomedov and the UFC find out that one of the most prominent fighters in their organization has access to a streaming link, it might put a strain on their relationship.

A few months ago, Khabib Nurmagomedov presented a list of the 15 MMA competitors who, in his opinion, deserve to be considered the best to ever compete in the sport of mixed martial arts. He ranked Fedor Emilianenko and Jon Jones as the best fighters in the world.

On the 13th of April, Khabib tweeted:

“My MMA GOAT top 15″: 1) Fedor vs. Jones, 2) GSP, 3) Anderson Silva, etc. The fourth, Demetrious Johnson 5) Daniel Cormier 6) Henry Cejudo 7) Jose Aldo8) Kamaru Usman 9) Adesanya 10) BJPENN 11) Royce Graice 12) Couture/Velasquez 13) Hendo/Shogun 14) The CroCop and the Miocic 15) Dominic Cruz/Frankie Edgar”
