When is the time for the weigh-ins for UFC 298? When will Ilia Topuria, Alexander Volkanovski, and other fighters appear on the scale?

Published:

The start time for the weigh-in portion of UFC 298, which will take place on Friday, February 16, is 12:00 PM Eastern Time (ET) for fans on the East Coast of the United States, and 9:00 AM Pacific Time (PT) for those who live on the West Coast. UFC.com, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitch will all be live streaming platforms that will broadcast the weigh-in program.

As of right now, the fight card for UFC 298 is one of the most anticipated events of the year. It includes a star-studded lineup of fighters from top to bottom, with the main card in particular generating a large amount of attention throughout the proceedings. Alexander Volkanovski will defend his featherweight title against Ilia Topuria, who has never lost a fight in her career. This fight will be the star attraction.

Both men have shown an overwhelming sense of self-assurance over their capacity to emerge victorious, with each of them referring to the ease with which they will prevail over the other. His assertions, on the other hand, have been met with a lack of support due to the fact that Topuria does not have any experience competing at the highest level in the division and Volkanovski is considered to be a pound-for-pound great.

The long-awaited return of Paulo Costa to the octagon will take place in the co-main event, which will feature a battle between Whittaker and Costa. Whittaker will be competing against Costa for the first time since 2022. The fight between the two fighters is most likely an elimination match for the middleweight belt, with the purpose of determining who will be the next title challenger after the rumored fight between Dricus du Plessis and Israel Adesanya.

Below them, the controversial rising welterweight Ian Garry will finally face off against Geoff Neal. The Irishman will be pitting his unbeaten record against a veteran who is known for his hard-hitting style. In another bout, Merab Dvalishvili and Henry Cejudo are scheduled to compete against each other in a bantamweight title eliminator that will undoubtedly have significant repercussions for both of their careers.

With a victory, Dvalishvili would almost surely be given the opportunity to compete for the title, whilst a defeat would be sufficient for Cejudo to conclude his career in the sport. Lastly, the first fight of the evening is a middleweight fight between the notoriously difficult Anthony Hernandez and the rising middleweight knockout artist Roman Kopylov. Hernandez is the more experienced of the two fighters.

UFC 298 features an unbeaten bantamweight prospect

This will be Rinya Nakamura’s third bout with the promotion, and it will take place on the preliminary event of UFC 298. He will be competing against Carlos Vera at the bantamweight division. For those who are not familiar with him, Nakamura is a wrestler who competes at an exceedingly high level. He has won the U23 World Wrestling Championship and won the bronze medal at the Wrestling World Cup.

To this point, he has not suffered a single defeat and has finished all of his opponents, with the exception of two, to build a perfect 8–0 record. He is youthful and filled with potential, especially considering that he is one of the few representatives of Japan in mixed martial arts at the highest level. He is only 28 years old.
