When Ryan Garcia faced up against Gervonta Davis in April of 2023, he experienced and felt defeat for the very first time in his professional career.
Due to the fact that they entered the ring with unbeaten records of 23-0 and 28-0, respectively, both of these men are considered to be future stars of the sport. After the first few rounds of the fight, which were marked by intense competition and the delivery of powerful blows by both competitors, ‘Tank’ started to demonstrate his superiority over his opponent.
At the seventh round, Davis delivered a punch to the liver that was so well placed that it caused ‘KingRy’ to take a knee with pain. Due to the fact that he was unable to make the referee’s 10-count, he fell to his first defeat in his professional career.
On the other hand, Garcia has now disclosed the identity of the mole in his camp who was responsible for spreading the news that he had suffered a separated rib several weeks before to the fight. As the cause of his rib injury, “KingRy” cited his rigorous weight loss regimen, which resulted in his reaching a weight of 136 pounds.
He also alleged that Floyd Mayweather, who has been Davis’s longtime buddy and mentor, hired someone in Garcia’s camp to leak the information about the injury. Mayweather is Davis’ favorite boxer.
‘KingRy’ made the following statement in a recent interview with Compas on the Beat:
“Mayweather transferred $100,000 to a third party. There is no way for me to know for sure who it is. It occurred to me that there were only three persons present in the gym at the time in question in my opinion.

Last week, he made an appearance on the Patrick Bet-David Podcast, where he stated the following information:
“Because I was dropping so much weight, my ribs became separated at the same time… I’m sorry, but there were only three persons in there as opposed to the four people that were there… Because of this, Gervonta was aware. It was a court case.” [From 3:20 to 5:25]
Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney almost incite a brawl during fresh face-off
It is scheduled for April 20 that Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney will compete against one another for the WBC super lightweight belt.
“The Dream” will be making his first attempt at defending his championship against Garcia. This comes after Haney won a title in his second weight class by defeating Regis Prograis, a former champion, in a manner that set a new record.
In the aftermath of the announcement of their fight, ‘KingRy’ and Haney were seen engaging in a face-off, during which the situation came dangerously close to being ugly. Due to the fact that Garcia shoved the WBC champion after a heated exchange of words, the two fighters were separated in order to prevent a fight from breaking out between them.
Fight Hub TV has published video footage recorded during the event to the website YouTube.
