Tawanchai PK Saenchai, the reigning and undisputed ONE featherweight Muay Thai world champion, is currently in the immediate aftermath of a resounding decision victory over Superbon Singha Mawynn, which took place over the weekend. However, he is already considering the possibility of adorning his waist with further ONE Championship gold.
The fight between Tawanchai and Superbon was a contentious five-round struggle, but Tawanchai emerged victorious with a majority decision against Superbon. In the main event of ONE Friday Fights 46: Tawanchai vs. Superbon, which took place on December 22nd, 2018, at the historic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, the two competitors squared off against one other.
Tawanchai and Superbon each had their moments in the spotlight during the competition, which was a close-fought affair. However, in the end, it was the phenom who was 24 years old who was able to keep his Muay Thai gold intact and win the judges’ vote.
As part of his post-fight interview with Mitch ‘The Dragon’ Chilson, a veteran broadcast commentator for ONE Championship, Tawanchai stated that he is finished with Muay Thai for the time being and is now focusing his attention on the kickboxing belt that is now held by Chingiz Allazov, who is of Azerbaijani and Belarusian descent.
In reference to the kickboxing champion, Tawanchai stated:
“Chingiz is a superb fighter,” the voice said. It seems to me that I would be the underdog if I were to compete against him, but if the opportunity presents itself and I am forced to compete against him, I will seize it.
What’s next for Tawanchai PK Saenchai?
PK Saenchai Tawanchai, who is 24 years old, has almost reached his full potential in the featherweight Muay Thai division of ONE Championship. He has completed everything that he could have done.
In addition to the fight with Chingiz Allazov that was mentioned earlier, Tawanchai has stated that he is interested in competing against Jonathan “The General” Haggerty, who holds the title of world champion in both kickboxing and Muay Thai at the bantamweight division for ONE Championship.
Fans from the United States and Canada will be able to watch the replay of ONE Friday Fights 46: Tawanchai vs. Superbon on the ONE Super App, the official YouTube account for ONE Championship, and other digital platforms.
