Tagir Khalilov has stated that the change in opponents will not affect his preparation for Superlek.

Tagir Khalilov, who competes in the flyweight division of Muay Thai, will fight a replacement opponent in his forthcoming match, but he is unaffected by the situation.

In the main event of ONE Fight Night 12 on Prime Video, which took place on July 14 at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, ‘Samingpri’ faced up against the superstar of Thai mixed martial arts, Superlek Kiatmoo9.

It was originally planned for Tagir Khalilov to compete against Elias Mahmoudi of Algeria on the card. After an unforeseen change of events surrounding the bout that was supposed to be the main event, he was promoted to battle ‘The Kicking Machine’ as the main event instead.

In an interview with ONE Championship, a member of the Samingpri Muay Thai Gym who is 30 years old stated that the change in opponent does not significantly affect him and that he is prepared to compete against anyone.

He said:

“The switch in competition didn’t really impact my training camp in any significant way.” We made some tiny modifications.”

Tagir Khalilov has recently been on a tear, as evidenced by the fact that he has won his last two matches by virtue of finishing within the first round of competition.

During their bout in December of last year in Manila, he defeated Thai Chorfah Tor Sangtiennoi by way of a technical knockout (uppercut) and won the bout. Then, in March, he knocked out another Thai fighter in Black Panther with a vicious body blow that sent him tumbling to the mat shortly after it landed.

Superlek, who last competed just three weeks ago, is making a quick comeback in an effort to put an end to ‘Samingpri’s’ streak of victories.

In order to keep his position as the top contender in the flyweight division of Muay Thai and as the reigning champion in the flyweight division of kickboxing, he will need to record another victory in his upcoming bout.

On June 23, Superlek competed in ONE Friday Fights 22 and knocked out his opponent Nabil Anane in the first round with a chop down. Anane stood 6 feet 2 inches tall. Before that, he competed in the months of January and March, during which he first captured the vacant ONE flyweight kickboxing world title and then successfully defended it.

Prime Video users in North America may watch ONE Fight Night 12 at no additional cost on the platform.
