Superbon says fight with Tayfun Ozcan unavoidable despite getting sick the first time

Published:

Superbon Singha Mawynn is excited to participate at ONE Fight Night 11 and get her career off to a new and improved start.

A reset has been going on for the former divisional king ever since he was knocked out by Chingiz Allazov at ONE Fight Night 6 in January, which resulted in him losing his featherweight kickboxing world championship.

His quest to regain the title will begin on June 9 at the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. He has regained the hunger of a contender for the belt.

After the Thai star achieved a strong run as the world champion of the division, there are many competitors who are ready to settle the score with him as he makes his way back to the top.

On the other side, Tayfun Ozcan has been holding out for quite some time in the hopes of getting the chance to compete against the previous champion. Ozcan stepped up to fight the world champion on short notice at ONE on Prime Video 2 in October of the previous year, replacing Chingiz Allazov who was unable to compete due to an injury.

He was prepared for the most significant opportunity of his career, but the fight had eluded him until now because the champion had also withdrawn from the battle. As a result, Ozcan will now compete against Marat Grigorian.

Superbon is looking forward to finally putting this competition under his belt, even though the Dutch-Turkish striker finally has the chance he has been yearning for, which provides him with the possibility of securing the most significant victory of his career to date.

The former pound-for-pound number one, who is now 32 years old and was interviewed by ONE Championship, said the following:

“I am still upset that I was not able to participate in the fight due to medical reasons. I had already arrived in Singapore at that point, but I became ill, and the attending physician advised against continuing the fight. In any case, I didn’t think we could get away from our confrontation.”
On the 9th of June, viewers in North America who have a subscription to Amazon Prime Video will be able to watch ONE Fight Night 11 live and for free.
