Reinier de Ridder, the current middleweight world champion for ONE, is regarded as one of the top grapplers in modern MMA.Eleven of his 16 professional victories have been by submission. This includes several significant victories that allowed him to unify two weight classes and go undefeated before he was defeated by Anatoly Malykhin in December of the previous year and forfeited his light heavyweight title.De Ridder will test his grappling prowess against one of the world’s top no-gi grapplers in his return to competition after experiencing defeat for the first bout in his career.

One of the top athletes currently engaged in submission grappling is Tye Ruotolo. He and his brother Kade have long made suggestions that they might take on de Ridder.

‘The Dutch Knight’ has been practising on one of the top grappling mats in the world in order to get ready for this match. The most well-known jiu-jitsu instructor in the world, John Danaher often shares the mats with students like Gordon Ryan, Craig Jones, and Garry Tonon.

Reinier de Ridder discussed his experience practising with some of the world’s top grapplers in an interview with The MMA Superfan.
