It’s possible that ONE strawweight challenger Danial Williams is fresh off a defeat at the hands of ONE strawweight kickboxing world champion Jonathan Di Bella at ONE Fight Night 15. Williams was defeated by Di Bella via unanimous decision. Even if this was the case, he continued to act in the capacity of an analyst for the impending fight for the ONE bantamweight kickboxing world championship between Fabricio Andrade and Jonathan Haggerty.
In an interview that was conducted exclusively for Sportskeeda MMA, “Mini T” evaluated the possibilities of victory for both the ONE MMA bantamweight world champion and the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion in a matchup against one another.
According to him, they are capable of trouncing one another, with Andrade’s unconventional strikes constantly posing a threat and Haggerty’s technique and pressure causing opponents to buckle under the strain.
On the other hand, the Australian-Thai athlete is on ‘The General’s’ team, and he thinks that ‘The General’ will prevail via decision.
Williams has stated that
Fabricio may have one of those sly knees for a stoppage, which wouldn’t surprise me at all. Perhaps Fabricio because of his stoppages, or Haggerty because of his points. However, in terms of points, I’m going to side with Haggerty more.
In their respective sports and competitions, Andrade and Haggerty had recently been crowned world champions of their respective categories. In the main event of ONE Fight Night 7 in February 2023, the Brazilian mixed martial arts superstar won a technical knockout victory over his countryman John Lineker in the fourth round.
In the meantime, the British superstar beat the enormous odds that were placed against him after going up to the bantamweight division and challenging Nong-O Hama for his championship in April of this past year. He knocked out Nong-O Hama in the first round to become the new bantamweight Muay Thai king, and he did so by writing a first-round knockout.
The Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand will serve as the host venue for ONE Fight Night 16 which will take place on Friday, November 3. The full event is broadcast live and for free during primetime in the United States for subscribers of Amazon Prime Video in North America.
