The animosity between Jon Jones and Tyson Fury appeared to be drawing to a close just as the UFC superstar Jon Jones made another comment against the boxing phenomenon Tyson Fury. In the past, he had acknowledged that engaging in combat inside of a squared circle would be challenging for him. However, it appears that his position has shifted, and he is now willing to consider competing inside of a boxing ring.

Many people consider “Bones” to be the best fighter who has ever competed in mixed martial arts, and he has a tremendous record to back up this claim. His record includes a number of victories over past champions and fighters who have been inducted into the Hall of Fame. Among his most notable victories are ones over Daniel Cormier, Vitor Belfort, Rashad Evans, and Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua, respectively.

Jon Jones walked back his previous ‘A-Side’ comment during a recent interview at Flanker Kitchen + Sports Bar in Las Vegas. He stated that Tyson Fury would be an ideal opponent for him, even if it would require him to enter the boxing ring to make it happen:

“It would mean the world to me if Dana [White] was able to bring about that battle. One thing that is great about the UFC is that they always make sure to give the audience what it is that they want to watch. It would be incredible if that fight could take place against Tyson Fury since he is such a tremendous opponent. I am ready for it, and I would even be willing to box him if that’s what it takes. Let’s watch and see what develops.”

In the past, Tyson Fury has indicated that he is interested in engaging in a fight with Jon Jones, but he has asked that the match take place inside of a boxing ring. The British fighter has stated that he has no desire to ever compete inside of an MMA cage, despite the fact that a video of him working on his takedown defense and ground grappling has been made public.

Is Tyson Fury next for Jon Jones?

Jon Jones and Tyson Fury appear to be getting closer to agreeing to terms for a fight, and it appears like a potential deal could be concluded between the two at some point in the future. On the other hand, Jones must first focus his attention on addressing other difficulties.

The fight between the 35-year-old fighter and Stipe Miocic was scheduled to take place at International Fight Week in the following month; however, it appears as though those arrangements have been scrapped. It’s possible that the legendary heavyweight boxer’s exit strategy will not include defeating the man widely regarded as the sport’s greatest opponent of all time before calling it quits.

There are rumors circulating that owing to difficulties in making the bout between the two fighters happen, the dangerous Sergei Pavlovich could step in and contend for the heavyweight title of the UFC before the year is up.
