In response to Khamzat Chimaev’s perceived lack of professionalism at UFC 279, Jorge Masivdal has added his voice to the chorus of detractors. Despite the shockwaves caused by Chimaev’s spectacular UFC run, not all competitors are persuaded by his audacious assertions that he can beat any opponent in the welterweight or middleweight divisions.Jorge Masvidal will make a comeback at UFC 287 next month to compete against Gilbert Burns in the co-main event. On April 8, 2023, in the Miami-Dade Arena in Miami, Florida, the event will take place in his hometown.
Jorger Masvidal criticised the Chechen-Swede for missing weight by 8.5 pounds at UFC 279 in response to Chimaev’s remarks on a recent episode of The MMA Hour:
I overheard him say, “Who the f**k are you? He was calling out [middleweight champion Alex] Pereira. This is the world champion, and you haven’t even defeated a top-15 opponent. At 185, get the hell out of here. Put your hard hat on, don your mouthpiece, and start working like the rest of us, please. You cannot be 8.5 pounds underweight and expect title shots. Fight first, then talk.
Naturally, Khamzat Chimaev replied to Masvidal’s defamation with a pointless dispute in the Instagram comments area of a post on MMA Fighting. Chimaev said:
No matter what weight he fights, Jorge Masvidal “is no longer a gangster talking about weight gangsters.”
Jorge Masvidal claims that Shavkat Rakhmonov can “break” Khamzat Chimaev
Khamzat Chimaev and Shavkat Rakhmonov are unquestionably two of the most promising prospects to break through in the UFC recently. Both competitors have championship-caliber MMA professional resumes and are unbeaten.
Given that they are both skilled in every facet of the game, fight fans have long speculated on how a matchup between the two might go.
Jorge Masvidal, a seasoned UFC fighter, responded to the prospect of the contest in a recent interview with Full Violence. He declared:
“Bro, I believe that Shavkat Rakhmonov breaks Chimaev. I don’t have a lot of faith in Chimaev. He [Chimaev] is large for his weight class and is capable of wrestling, but if you find a man of his caliber, he will be able to wrestle back and have hands. Chimaev will have to disprove my assumption since I believe he will know. Brother, I don’t see it in that guy. I’m good at spotting hype, therefore I’d call you the hype-master bro.
