Take a look back at ‘The Immortal’s’ grudge bout against Sinsamut Klinmee before Regian Eersel defends his world title against Dmitry Menshikov this coming Friday on Prime Video at ONE Fight Night 11: Eersel vs. Menshikov.
At ONE Friday Fights 9, the defending ONE lightweight Muay Thai and kickboxing world champion faced off against probably Thailand’s most aggressive and exciting fighter in order to put an end to their rivalry with a decisive rematch. The winner of this bout will be crowned the ONE lightweight Muay Thai and kickboxing world champion.
After an exceptionally close fight for the first ONE lightweight Muay Thai world championship, Eersel was given a victory by split decision over Sinsamut in the first match. The match was for the championship.
After the competition, a significant number of spectators were dissatisfied with the outcome. They made it clear that they were unhappy with the decision by booing loudly from within the stadium as it was being announced. On March 17, the two competitors got into an incredible battle right from the starting bell despite the fact that the stakes were quite high for each of them.
Sinsamut prevailed early on, just like he did in their previous encounter, thanks to the unrelenting pressure he applied and the damaging leg kicks he delivered. He engaged his opponent effectively at close range as Eersel bought time with an outstanding guard.
Eersel increased the pressure on his opponent by focusing his hooks and long-range kicks on the opponent’s body as the fight moved into the second and third rounds. Sinsamut had expended the majority of his energy during the first few rounds by that point; as a result, every strike he landed seemed like it required a significant amount of effort.
Eersel kept up the tempo and built up a strong combination of body kicks and hooks to the body, which ultimately resulted in Sinsamut being forced to submit right where he stood. The striker who hails from Suriname demonstrated beyond any reasonable doubt that he is, in fact, the genuine article.

Fans in the United States and Canada will have another opportunity to see Regian Eersel compete on June 9 at ONE Fight Night 11 when it airs on Prime Video.
