It is possible that the legendary mixed martial arts fighter Demetrious Johnson may continue his long and successful career, particularly if he is given the opportunity to serve as the main event of another ONE Championship event held in the United States.
At ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video on May 5 in Denver, Colorado, the reigning ONE Flyweight World Champion, “Mighty Mouse,” successfully defended his title. This event was broadcast on Prime Video.
In the main event of their trilogy title battle, which took place at ONE Championship’s historic first live on-ground event in the United States, he defeated the former divisional king Adriano Moraes through unanimous decision. This fight was highly appreciated by the spectators in the United States.
However, in the days leading up to the historic event, there was widespread speculation that Demetrious Johnson’s long and illustrious career would come to an end with the third fight in his trilogy against Moraes.
The American icon decided to first address the topic with his family, his team, and other legendary athletes in the sport before making any statements regarding his future in the sport. This decision caused some people to anticipate a retirement announcement in the aftermath of the headlining fight, but none was made.
In a recent interview on The MMA Hour, Demetrious Johnson discussed the prospect of his continuing his MMA career, stating that he would be more interested in doing so if it were for a ONE event held in the United States. The pride of Parkland, Washington, shared their thoughts and said:
“Yeah, if there’s another one, I’d really like to think so. It’s a terrific deal for a shorter flight, and I really enjoy it. There are only a few commissions in our region, in our region, and in North America that use our rulebook, which includes water breaks and allowing knees to be delivered to an opponent who is grounded. So, yes we’ll see.”

Officials from ONE Championship and Amazon Prime Video are currently engaged in active conversations to expand their collaboration in order to bring about the expansion of ONE Championship’s presence in the United States with the goal of holding more events in the country.
Kairat Akhmetov of Kazakhstan, who confirmed his reputation as the challenger-in-waiting with his own unanimous decision win at ONE Fight Night 10, could very well be Demetrious Johnson’s opponent if he ever does continue to fight, regardless of whether it takes place in the United States or elsewhere.
The 1stBank Center in Denver hosted ONE Fight Night 10 and was completely sold out for the event. In North America, customers with Amazon Prime can watch the replay of it at no additional cost.
