Chingiz Allazov has been on a great run, and he extended it at ONE Fight Night 13 by winning his fifth match in a row in the ONE Championship.
‘Chinga’ successfully defended his ONE featherweight kickboxing world championship for the first time after defeating Marat Grigorian with a performance that demonstrated how much he is growing as a competitor each time he steps inside the circle. This performance was highlighted by another victory over Grigorian.
The champion’s best achievement in ONE Championship is still his performance earlier this year at ONE Fight Night 6, despite the fact that he exacted revenge on an opponent who had previously defeated him and did so in an outstanding manner.
Allazov got a shot at the championship by virtue of his victory in the ONE Featherweight World Grand Prix Championship. His opponent would be the best striker in the sport ranked by pound-for-pound performance.
At ONE Fight Night 6, where he was scheduled to compete against Superbon, ‘Chinga’ had the chance to win the world championship and establish himself as the undisputed pound-for-pound champion.
The challenge resulted in his best performance to date under the ONE Championship banner, and he accomplished both goals in a manner that was considered to be dominant. This put the pressure on the champion from the very beginning of the match.
Allazov started to get the recognition that he deserved as the finest striker in the world after finishing Superbon in the second round. He continued that momentum into ONE Fight Night 13, where he confirmed his standing once again.
