The UFC welterweight contender Belal Muhammad recently came to X (which was once known as Twitter) to share his thoughts on the legendary battle that took place between Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard.
In the course of their respective careers, Edgar and Maynard come into conflict with one another three times. Their second bout was at UFC 125, which took place on January 2, 2011, and it was their second fight overall.
It had been thirteen years since Muhammad had submitted a post on Facebook, and Muhammad shared a screenshot of that post. As he wrote:
“Greatest sporting event I’ve ever been too”
Muhammad sent X a screenshot of the incident along with the following caption:
“[Frankie Edgar’s battle against gray] was the very first fight I ever attended. It was the fight that hooked me,”

Maynard prevailed over Edgar in their first face-to-face encounter, which took place in April of 2008, by virtue of a decision victory. The battle was particularly tight. The rematch, to which Belal Muhammad was referring, was a combat that was full of blood and guts, and both competitors gave their absolute best effort. While they stood and traded for the entire quarter of an hour, neither of the men had any intention of giving up on the situation.
It was decided that the fight was a draw because it was so close. There would be a third and final battle between Edgar and Maynard, and Edgar would emerge triumphant in the trilogy bout. Maynard would be defeated by Edgar. The two have a history of competing against one another and have each won once.
Belal Muhammad appears set to train in Dagestan ahead of potential Leon Edwards fight
Many people believe that Belal Muhammad is the next person in line to challenge Leon Edwards for the 170-pound strap that he now holds. At the welterweight division, the bout is expected to be the one to make, even though it is not yet a foregone conclusion.
In order to get ready for the fight, it appears that Belal Muhammad has already packed his bags and is about to travel to Dagestan in order to improve his mixed martial arts skills. A picture of Muhammad showing him beside Islam Makhachev, the current lightweight champion of the UFC, was just reposted by Muhammad.

Additionally, his manager, Ali Abdelaziz, implied that the trip was going to take place in a couple of tweets that were enigmatic. As he wrote:
“@bullyb170”
What came next was the following:
“Dagestan”

Relocating to Dagestan is unquestionably a prudent decision, especially if Muhammad is actually the next in line at 170 pounds. The advancement of his entire mixed martial arts (MMA) game plus the fact that he has worked with notable individuals such as Islam Makhachev and Khabib Nurmagomedov might very well carry ‘Remember the Name’ to the next level. Additionally, his wrestling game is held in high respect.
