In the realm of mixed martial arts (MMA), Sean Strickland, the current middleweight champion of the UFC, stands out as one of the most divisive individuals.
‘Tarzan’ is famed not only for his outstanding combat skills, but also for his propensity of making statements that are both daring and controversial. Through his conversations on a wide range of subjects, Strickland consistently manages to attract a lot of attention.
It doesn’t matter if he’s going into controversial matters like his self-proclaimed connections to Neo-Nazis or offering strong views on subjects like feminism; the American, who is 32 years old, doesn’t hesitate to share viewpoints that drive intense arguments.
During a recent appearance on X, Sean Strickland offered a very outlandish viewpoint regarding the historical drama series ‘Vikings’ that is available on Netflix:
I will never be able to comprehend what took place with the Vikings…. They went from being warriors to being a group of sexual f*gs in the metropolis… I believe that is what occurs when you give women an excessive amount of influence in your culture….”
Sean Strickland ranks Dricus Du Plessis as a more challenging opponent than Khamzat Chimaev
Sean Strickland recently offered his thoughts on the impending fight against ‘Stillknocks’, stating that he believes Dricus Du Plessis to be a more formidable opponent than Khamzat Chimaev.
throughout the main event of UFC 297, which will take place on January 20 in Toronto, Strickland is getting ready to defend his middleweight title against Du Plessis throughout the fight. As a result of his stunning victory against Israel Adesanya at UFC 293, which took place in September, ‘Tarzan’ is now in a position to compete in another crucial bout.
The fight between Du Plessis and Adesanya for the title was initially scheduled to take place; however,Du Plessis withdrew from the fight due to an injury.
The following are some of the reasons that Strickland believes that Du Plessis presents a larger challenge than Chimaev, as detailed in a video that was just uploaded to his YouTube channel:
What I think about Dricus is that he is so awkward, but he is good… It’s a good thing that he’s so awkward. There is going to be a major conflict. It’s going to be a more difficult battle than Chimaev… It is not fair to him, Chimaev; he does not deserve it… The only reason Chimaev is given the opportunity is because he is able to sell a significant number of tickets.
