Demetrious Johnson delights in fulfilling his role as a father to his three young children.

The fact that Demetrious Johnson has been talking about retiring for the past month or so can be attributed to a few different factors. There is one more that is quite obvious to the general public, while the others are only known to himself personally.

In a conversation that took place on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, Johnson expressed his desire to be as involved in his children’s lives as much as is humanly feasible.

The current holder of the ONE flyweight world title has three children: two sons named Tyron and Maverick, and one daughter named Tanyth. Johnson has stated that he enjoys spending time with his children whenever he is at home, despite the fact that he continues to be very active in the gym.

“But now it’s like, you have three little ones that come home, and you know Tanyth’s she’s always playing fairy, and you’ve got Maverick, and he wants Cody Rhodes and the American Nightmare, and you’ve got Tyron, and he’s pissed off because he can’t go to school today because the power’s out.”

Johnson is a professional mixed martial artist, so he is well aware that he will not be able to spend as much time as he would like with his children, especially considering that ONE Championship has its events in Asian countries.

Johnson, on the other hand, was presented with a heartwarming chance in his most recent fight, which took place earlier this month at ONE Championship’s inaugural on-site event in the United States.

At ONE Fight Night 10 in Denver, the American superstar successfully defended his flyweight world title against Adriano Moraes in the third and final battle of their trilogy. He also took advantage of the opportunity to have his family sit cage-side for the fight.

In the end, Johnson was able to put an end to his feud with Moraes by winning a dominant unanimous decision in front of his wife Destiny as well as his boys Tyron and Maverick at the 1stBank Center, which was completely sold out.

Fans in North America have the opportunity to view the whole ONE Fight Night 10 card for free on replay on Amazon Prime Video.
