“Buchecha” is holding out hope that the fight between Arjan Bhullar and Anatoly Malykhin “happens this month” rather than coming to a halt.

Marcus ‘Buchecha’ Almeida, who is considered to be one of the top contenders in the heavyweight division, has his sights set firmly on ONE Friday Fights 22, which will take place on March 22.

Even though he has his own bout to train for, which is scheduled to take place at ONE Fight Night 13 against Reug Reug, the fate of the heavyweight class will be decided on June 23.

At the illustrious Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, the unification bout between Arjan Bhullar and the current holder of the interim championship, Anatoly Malykhin, will take place, and the division will finally have one true world champion as a result.

The division has been in a rather static date due to Bhullar’s over two year spell of inactivity, but that comes to an end when he finally meets battle against the undefeated Russian powerhouse that is located inside the Circle.

Almeida is simply keeping his fingers crossed that he will be able to secure his position as the subsequent legitimate title contender by virtue of an impressive victory of his own under the ONE Championship banner, and he is doing so in the hopes that the fight will finally take place this time around.

‘Buchecha’ discussed the fight and shared his thoughts on Bhullar vs. Malykhin in an interview with The MMA Superfan on YouTube. Here are some of his comments:

“I really hope that it won’t be delayed any further. I have a lot of faith that it will take place this month.

Almeida will put his efforts upon winning his fifth consecutive win under the ONE brand in order to guarantee his chance at whoever emerges victorious at Lumpinee. He will do this while keeping one eye on the massive heavyweight battle that will take place on June 23.
