Arjan Bhullar, the first-ever Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) world champion from India, is ready to become a two-division world champion as soon as he decides the outcome of his unification match this coming Friday, June 23.
At tomorrow’s ONE Friday Fights 22 event, the reigning ONE heavyweight world champion will square off against the current interim king, Anatoly Malykhin. The event will be broadcast live from the renowned Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Their unification bout will put an end to the wait for ‘Singh’ to make his return. At the same time, the 37-year-old sees this fight as an opportunity to drop down a category and challenge Malykhin for the latter’s 225-pound divisional crown. He sees this fight as a leeway to drop down a division.
Arjan Bhullar discussed the prospect of stepping down to the light heavyweight divisions in an interview with the South China Morning Post. Bhullar is on the hunt for another precious property and is considering making the move.
He said:
“There has never been a reigning (current) heavyweight champion who has moved down to challenge for the light heavyweight title. Therefore, I will keep an eye out for information regarding that.

Obviously, the only way for that to take place is if he is victorious. Arjan Bhullar might be the kind of competitor who can put an end to Malykhin’s spotless record, at least according to the publication.
The athlete from American Kickboxing Academy is equipped with the skills, experience, and self-assurance necessary to defeat the Russian Hulk.
All of that, however, might not be enough to prevent ‘Sladkiy’ from extending his win streak to two divisions and maintaining his unblemished record in the capital of Thailand.
Despite this, the heavyweight world title in ONE is currently open for challengers.
At the 22nd installment of ONE Friday Fights, which will take place on June 23 and will be streamed live and for free on the organization’s official YouTube page, find out who will be walking away from Lumpinee Stadium as the ONE heavyweight world champion.
