According to Xiong Jing Nan’s boxing coach, ‘The Panda’ is not taking ‘Wondergirl’ for granted.

In order to better prepare for her forthcoming fight, reigning and undisputed ONE women’s strawweight MMA world champion ‘The Panda’ Xiong Jing Nan has engaged the assistance of former WBA boxing world champion Drian ‘Gintong Kamao’ Francisco.

At ONE Fight Night 14: Stamp vs. Ham, which will be broadcast on Prime Video, Xiong will compete in a special rules striking battle against Nat “Wondergirl” Jaroonsak, who is a sensation in the sport of Muay Thai.

On Friday, September 29, live coverage of the event may be seen emanating from the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore.

In an interview that was conducted exclusively for Sportskeeda MMA, Francisco, who has been working with Xiong to improve his boxing skills, provided his insight into the impending fight.

Gintong Kamao is quoted as saying:

It is quite difficult to anticipate a knockout, and it is extremely difficult to anticipate that. As for me, I am aware and confident that Jing Nan will emerge victorious. I have no doubt that she will come out on top. It’s simply that I’m not sure which round it is. It is possible for this to occur in the very first round, the second round, or even the third round. Naturally, the outcome is determined by the opponent’s strategy, and I have no doubt that Wondergirl has also put a lot of effort into preparing for this.”

“Both of us had a significant amount of time to train for this fight; in total, we had almost three months to get ready.” Therefore, we are not underestimating the competition. We put in a lot of work to get ready for this, and the most of our efforts were directed against Jing Nan.
Since Xiong will be trained by Francisco, a fighter of the highest caliber and a multiple-time winner of the world championship, there is no doubt that “The Panda” will be full of confidence going into the fight.

The one-of-a-kind special rules striking competition that is part of the ONE Championship takes place over the course of three rounds, each of which lasts for three minutes. All punching techniques are fair game for athletes to use during competition. However, you are not allowed to use any kind of grappling, kicks, elbows, or knees. The bout will be fought using MMA gloves weighing 4 ounces each, and the must-win scoring system will be used to determine the winner.

Fans in the United States and Canada have the opportunity to watch ONE Fight Night 14 live and for free on Amazon Prime Video. The event will take place in New York City.
