At the eleventh installment of ONE Fight Night, Regian Eersel scored his tenth victory in a row to advance in the ONE Championship.
It was a statement performance from “The Immortal,” who stopped Dmitry Menshikov in the first round to shut up the show inside the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. “The Immortal’s” victory helped close out the event.
It is one thing to ascend to the peak of the mountain; it is an entirely different struggle to remain there, and Eersel has not demonstrated any symptoms of slowing down or giving up so far.
The double world champion in lightweight kickboxing and Muay Thai has maintained his position as the reigning lightweight kickboxing and Muay Thai world champion by maintaining a singular focus on the task at hand. This has allowed him to stay one step ahead of all of his competitors in both divisions.
Regian Eersel thrives off of the additional incentive that comes from knowing that there are challengers waiting in line for their chance to take what is already theirs. While other fighters may feel additional pressure coming into a battle as a world champion, knowing that there are contenders waiting for their opportunity to take what is already theirs, Regian Eersel uses this knowledge to his advantage.
During the post-match interview that he gave after defending his Muay Thai title, he disclosed that the fact that he is the one who is being pursued is what motivates him to perform at the highest level each and every time:
“Having a bullseye on my back indicates that I’m paying close attention to detail. And I know that people are interested in the belt because it keeps me sharp.

Eersel has demonstrated once again why he is one of the most dominant world champions that ONE Championship has ever seen by defeating another challenger with little any effort at all.
Because of his attitude and his work rate, it will take some effort for anybody to overcome him and take his throne away. As things stand, “The Immortal” isn’t going anywhere, and it will take some effort for anyone to do so.
