UFC 294 is marred by a contentious doctor’s decision; Dana White, in damage control mode, cites the “big language barrier” as the cause.

The Chief Executive Officer of the UFC, Dana White, has commented on the controversy that arose after the bout between Magomed Ankalaev and Johnny Walker at UFC 294.

White made an appearance at the post-fight press conference, where he said that the disputed result could have been caused by a combination of inexperience on the part of the doctor as well as a language barrier between him (the doctor) and Walker. White was referring to the fact that the doctor and Walker did not speak the same language.

“It’s clear that this person lacks experience. I have a feeling that there are a lot of things that probably took place. I suppose he asked him [Johnny Walker], ‘Where are you right now?’ And his reply was, ‘I’m in the desert.'” He has a point there. I believe that the two of them are separated by a significant language barrier, as well as a significant experience gap. It is very terrible. Dana White stated that this was “one of those things that happens sometimes,” and that the company would “make it right” and “fix it.”

On the main card of UFC 294, a bout between Magomed Ankalaev and Johnny Walker took place at the light heavyweight division. In the very first round of the fight, Ankalaev made an honest mistake by landing an illegal knee, which caused the referee to stop the action. Walker was examined by the medical professional who entered the octagon to check on him. The Brazilian athlete was unable to provide an appropriate response to the doctor’s query, which led to him being deemed unable to proceed with the competition.
