There is still a possibility that Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler may compete against each other inside the octagon if the Irishman returns.
In spite of this, both men have started looking into new opponents in the event that the probable fight does not take place. This is because the announcement of their fight has been delayed several times.
A number of lightweight talents, like Charles Oliveira and Justin Gaethje, have been called out by “The Notorious” throughout the course of 2023. Now, Michael Chandler has taken it upon himself to call out a former UFC great.
Nate Diaz, who departed the company a year ago, recently took to X to express his desire in maybe returning to the cage at the highly anticipated UFC 300 show, which is scheduled to take place in April of 2024.
His tweet drew Chandler’s attention, and he responded by addressing the native of Stockton and providing an update on the possible bout between Conor McGregor and himself.
It was written by Diaz:
“UFC 300 would be tight but there’s nobody to fight.”
In response, Chandler provided the following remark:
Remain steadfast. I’d love to give you a good jaw crack. Concerning that previous fighter who is currently posing as a legitimate fighter, the situation is still not entirely clear.
Below you will find the exchange:

Michael Chandler’s latest decision to withdraw from the fight against Diaz is likely a reflection of his growing irritation with the absence of an official announcement. This is especially true when one considers the unwavering stance that he had against Conor McGregor a few weeks ago.
Conor McGregor is running out of patience with the lack of a fight announcement
This past weekend, Conor McGregor was present at the ‘Day of Reckoning’ boxing card that took place in Saudi Arabia. The main event of the show included Anthony Joshua competing against Otto Wallin.
Recently, the Irishman expressed his dissatisfaction with the manner in which the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has dealt with him. At UFC 264, which took place in July 2021, “The Notorious” suffered a broken leg while competing against Dustin Poirier. Since then, he has not competed.
After it was announced that McGregor and Michael Chandler would be the respective coaches for season 31 of “The Ultimate Fighter,” it was anticipated that McGregor would make his return to the octagon this year.
On the other hand, an official declaration regarding their probable fight has not yet been made, and both of the men appear to be finding themselves becoming increasingly impatient.
Conor McGregor made the following statements during his interview with talkSPORT:
Conor McGregor is running out of patience with the lack of a fight announcement
While the guys in Saudi Arabia are talking about Manny Pacquiao, the Ultimate Fighting Championship isn’t talking about any of it. It was supposed to be December when I returned, but I was supposed to be back in April… The total number of figures that I have taken with me for this game is greater than the sum of all of them combined… Within the entirety of the fight game’s history, no one has ever been treated in the manner that I am being treated… The patience I have is beginning to wear thin.
