The striking game of mixed martial arts is distinct from the striking games of kickboxing and Muay Thai, as Australian-Thai striker Danial Williams has learnt through experience.
It was said by “Mini T,” a competitor in the ONE Championship who competes in all three categories, that the only way to really understand mixed martial arts striking is to actually participate in it.
This information was divulged by Danial Williams during an interview with Sportskeeda, where he stated:
“When I was an observer of mixed martial arts (MMA), I used to look at the fighters and believe that their striking was so poor. I used to think that I could outstrike MMA fighters, but now that I compete in MMA, I realize how difficult it is. There are so many other things that we need to be concerned about.”
Williams, who is now 30 years old and made his promotional debut in April 2021, has participated in a total of four mixed martial arts battles and won three of them.
The native of Perth is going to make a fresh start in kickboxing for his upcoming bout, in which he will compete for the ONE strawweight world title.
On October 6, in Bangkok, ONE Fight Night 15 will feature Daniel Williams challenging the defending world champion Jonathan Di Bella of Canada. The fight will be broadcast on Prime Video.
After his unsuccessful effort to capture the flyweight gold back in March in a battle against world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 on short notice, “Mini T” is making another shot at a kickboxing world championship. This time, he will be competing in the super featherweight division.
The last time around, Danial Williams, who was a late-replacement opponent, did his best to stay up with Superlek. He faced stiff competition. And despite the fact that he had his chances, notably at the beginning of the fight, he was unable to overcome the obstacle and ended up losing by knockout in the third round.
It is something that, according to him, he will attempt to avoid during his fight against Jonathan Di Bella, who is making his first defense of the world championship he won in October of last year in his professional debut. This will be Jonathan Di Bella’s first defense of the world title.
ONE Fight Night 15 is now taking place at the illustrious Lumpinee Boxing Stadium. Prime Video users in North America may watch the event live and for no additional cost.
