When asked about his potential shot at the world title versus Jonathan Haggerty, Liam Harrison responded, “I need to get myself back in there.”

Despite the fact that the British combat sports great Liam Harrison has his sights set on success in ONE Championship, he has no plans to rush into a championship showdown with fellow countryman Jonathan Haggerty, who recently won the title of ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion.

The ‘Hitman’ disclosed in an interview with the South China Morning Post that was subsequently published as a video on the YouTube channel of the South China Morning Post that he is well aware of the fact that there are other individuals who are vying for the position of ‘The General’ and that he prefers to work his way up to the position via meritorious achievement rather than attempting to circumvent any of the members of the division.

Harrison also noted that in order to face Haggerty, he needs first get back to being the person he used to be, as he remarked:

“I just can’t wrap my head around that. There are other customers waiting in line, and the line itself is organized into a queue. I need to get myself back in there, get a nice win under my belt, and then we can look at that fight [against Haggerty].” “Right now, I need to get myself back in there.”
The representative of Bad Company has competed in bouts against some of the most skilled competitors that the martial arts organization has to offer, and he has emerged victorious from two of those bouts, namely those against Mohammed Bin Mahmoud and Muangthai PK Saenchai.

The 38-year-old veteran’s most recent bout, in which he challenged Nong-O Hama for the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title, resulted in a first-round technical knockout loss against Hama. The match took place in August 2022 at ONE on Prime Video 1 in Bangkok, Thailand.

Because of this defeat, he was left with damaged ligaments, which meant he needed surgery and a protracted length of time to heal. Harrison has only just recently begun his full training regimen again and is looking to book a bout before the end of the year.

On the other side, Jonathan Haggerty will compete against Fabricio Andrade, the current world champion of the bantamweight division in ONE bantamweight mixed martial arts, for the vacant ONE bantamweight kickboxing world title as the main event of ONE Fight Night 16 on Friday, November 3. Haggerty will be competing for a second world title belt in another sport.

This next Friday, October 6, during the primetime hours in the United States, the entire card will be streamed live and free of charge for subscribers of Amazon Prime Video in North America.
