At ONE Fight Night 14, the rising star in the art of the submission, Danielle Kelly, is giving it her all in an effort to secure a victory over Jessa Khan.

On the evening of this coming Friday, Kelly will make her second trip to Singapore Indoor Stadium to compete in what has the potential to be the most important BJJ match of her career. Kelly will compete under the WNO banner for the first time since her terrible loss to Jessa Khan two years ago, and she will be looking to redeem herself on the grandest platform in all of combat sports.

Both of these women will be competing for the first-ever ONE Atomweight Submission Grappling World Championship, which promises to be an exciting addition to the drama that is already expected to take place.

In an interview with Morning Kombat, Danielle Kelly discussed the extent to which she is willing to go in order to ensure that she leaves ONE Fight Night 14 with 26 pounds of gold and her head held high. This interview took place in advance of Kelly’s return to the Circle on September 29.

Kelly revealed, “I’ve been studying Jessa; I’ve been studying her for a while,” during their conversation about Jessa. “Both her gi and her no-gi are a perfect complement. I use a picture of her as my computer’s screensaver. I’m going to show this girl that I mean business, and when I do, I can’t wait to hear some people’s justifications for why they think she deserves to lose.

With outstanding performances against Mei Yamaguchi, Mariia Molchanova, and Ayaka Miura, Danielle Kelly has yet to suffer a loss while competing under the ONE Championship brand. She now holds the unbeaten record. But despite how spectacular those performances have been, she has never been put through a challenge comparable to the one that Jessa Khan plans to provide this coming Friday night.

Khan will be prepared to make the most of the opportunity she has been given in her ONE debut. She currently holds an IBJJF world title and is unbeaten in her last five bouts, so she is in an excellent position to do so.

Who do you think will emerge victorious from the very first ONE atomweight submission grappling tournament and claim the title of world champion?

On September 29, 2018, during primetime in the United States, Amazon Prime Video users in North America will be able to watch all of the action from ONE Fight Night 14: Stamp vs. Ham live and for free on Prime Video.
