Under the rules of kickboxing, Buakaw believes that Tawanchai has a chance to defeat Superbon: “He is capable of doing anything”

The notoriety of reigning ONE featherweight Muay Thai world champion Tawanchai PK Saenchai continues to rise, to the point that even giants of combat sports are now following his every fight and giving their various fight breakdown videos on his flawless stand-up style. Saenchai is the current holder of the title of ONE featherweight Muay Thai world champion.

Tawanchai was recently featured in a video breakdown by Muay Thai and kickboxing star Buakaw Banchamek, who posted the film on his official YouTube channel. Tawanchai is one of the legends mentioned in the video.

The kickboxing match that the legendary fighter, now 41 years old, had with Davit Kiria has been broken down and studied.

At one point in the film, Buakaw claims that due of how well Tawanchai did in the kickboxing ruleset, he is capable of defeating Superbon Singha Mawynn, who is a former ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion. He says:

If the battle were to take place according to kickboxing regulations, Superbon, who is more experienced in the sport, would likely have the upper hand. But based on Tawanchai’s recent victories [in kickboxing], I believe he is capable of anything, can feel comfortable, and can even defeat Superbon.
The fight between Tawanchai and Superbon for the ONE featherweight Muay Thai world title was scheduled to take place in the main event of ONE Fight Night 15 on October 6, but Superbon was forced to withdraw from the bout due to a muscle tear on his right calf. Tawanchai was scheduled to fight for the title.

‘Smokin’ Jo Nattawut stepped in and replaced Superbon as Tawanchai’s opponent in the card, where the 24-year-old was tested by the American-based athlete throughout all three rounds of their kickboxing clash. ‘Smokin’ Jo Nattawut stepped in and replaced Superbon as Tawanchai’s opponent in the card.

In the end, Tawanchai prevailed thanks to a unanimous decision, earning him his second victory in kickboxing while competing for the most prestigious martial arts organization in the world.

Although there is not yet a set date for the rematch between the two Thai superstars, ONE Championship is interested in arranging that fight as soon as possible after Superbon has fully recovered from the sad injury he sustained.

Fans in the United States and Canada who have an active subscription to Amazon Prime Video will have access to a replay of ONE Fight Night 15 whenever they want to watch it.
