Dustin Poirier entertains possibly facing Conor McGregor for a fourth time

Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier have competed against each other in the octagon on three separate occasions.

During the first time they faced one other, which was at UFC 178 in 2014, both of these fighters were thought to be featherweight prospects at the time. As a result of his forecast that they would fight, “The Notorious” was able to successfully knock out Poirier in the first round of their fight.

Following the conclusion of their featherweight encounter, both competitors went on to do remarkable things in their respective careers and fought each other again at UFC 257 in 2021. With a knockout victory in the second round over the Irishman, “The Diamond” exacted his vengeance, bringing the score equal and establishing a trilogy fight as a natural consequence.

Due to a leg injury sustained by Conor McGregor at the conclusion of Round 1 at UFC 264, the third fight, which was highly anticipated by fans and both competitors, did not conclude as the fans and fighters had hoped it would.

The fight between Dustin Poirier and “The Notorious” has resulted in a technical knockout victory for Poirier, who presently holds a 2-1 record against “The Diamond.” Poirier has also indicated his desire to fight “The Diamond” for a fourth time.

When questioned about the possibility of another fight with McGregor, Poirier responded as follows during a recent interview with ESPN Mixed Martial Arts:

It is highly likely that I would make an effort to silence him once and for all… Even though I don’t really see any other reason for it, that would be a massive fight. He has a 2-1 advantage over me, so that would be a huge battle.
