This Friday night, the Georgian star will be making his sixth appearance under the ONE Championship banner as he enters inside the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium for a kickboxing showdown against the current ONE featherweight Muay Thai world champion. The match will take place in the kickboxing ring.

David Kiria sat down with ONE Championship as fight night drew closer to talk about his upcoming fight with Tawanchai and his game plan to compete against one of the promotion’s most notable strikers. Tawanchai is scheduled to face David Kiria at the forthcoming event.

What did Kiria say?

“What is the strategy?” The battle will tell us more about it. I am unable to discuss everything, although it is common knowledge that he is a skilled kicker.

In his first match for ONE Championship, Tawanchai defeated Sean Clancy with relative ease. Is it within the realm of possibility for the featherweight Muay Thai king to defeat Davit Kiria?

Since signing with the promotion in 2021, Kiria has had a difficult time finding the wins column, however it is true that he has competed against some formidable opponents. The competitor has a record of 1-3 in ONE Championship, and his three defeats have come at the hands of Giorgio Petrosyan, Sitthichai Sitsonpeenong, and Mohammad Boutasaa. At ONE: First Strike nearly two years ago, he defeated Enriko Kehl, giving him his lone victory in the promotion.

On the other side, Tawanchai has an excellent record of 129 career wins and is now 5-1 in ONE. He has won his last four fights, beating Saemapetch Fairtex, Niclas Larsen, Petchmorakot Petchyindee, and Jamal Yusupov respectively. Currently, he is riding a win run of four fights. The knockout was the decisive factor in gaining those three victories.

He will attempt to add one more victory to his record, but this time he will be using eight-ounce gloves instead of the four-ounce ones he is used to using.

On August 4, Amazon Prime Video users in North America will be able to watch the whole ONE Fight Night 13 event live and without charge during primetime in the United States.
