Within the context of Jorge Masvidal being referred to as the “King of Miami,” Rick Ross has expressed his opinion over the matter. It appeared as though the American celebrity, who is 48 years old, laughed off the same thing and refused to admit the sobriquet “Gamebred on the spot.”

In the history of mixed martial arts (MMA), Masvidal is largely considered to be one of the most popular fighters. From street bouts in Miami to headlining worldwide UFC events, the 39-year-old fighter participated in the professional mixed martial arts arena for around twenty years. His career spanned his whole training career.

Throughout his mixed martial arts career, Masvidal of Miami was victorious in the UFC’s first ever symbolic BMF title. Additionally, he had made two separate attempts to fight for the undisputed welterweight belt in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. ‘Gamebred’ is a combat sports athlete who is a fan favorite. His supporters often affectionately refer to him as the ‘King of Miami’ among themselves.

Rick Ross, a megastar in the world of hip-hop, recently discussed a variety of topics throughout the course of an appearance on the Impaulsive podcast hosted by Logan Paul, a YouTuber and WWE superstar. After a period of time, Ross, who was born in Mississippi, gradually established himself as a prominent figure in the Miami rap scene. It is widely acknowledged that “Rozay” is among the most influential icons of popular culture, notably in Miami, Florida, in the United States of America.

As a result of this, Mike Majlak, who is also the co-host of the podcast, questioned whether or not Rick Ross is actually convinced that he is the “King of Miami.” There is a suggestion made by Majlak that Masvidal is of the opinion that Ross does not deserve the honorary title. Reacting to the question, the rapper asked:

“Who is that?”
After that, Majlak brought up Masvidal’s spectacular knockout victory against Ben Askren, which took place at UFC 239 in July of 2019. Within the context of that, Ross stated:

Congratulations, man, assuming he ever did a kneeling position. In other words, you took a knee. Is it clear to you what I’m saying? Special thanks to George. He worked on his knee. Is it clear to you what I’m saying? Hey, guy, I want to thank George. You reportedly did the knee, I heard.

Jorge Masvidal’s return: Is a combat sports comeback on the horizon for ‘Gamebred’?

After suffering a defeat by unanimous decision against Gilbert Burns at UFC 287 in April 2023, Jorge Masvidal made the decision to permanently retire from mixed martial arts combat. However, in the months that followed, the world of combat sports was filled with rumors and conjecture that ‘Gamebred’ could be able to participate once more in the competitive arena of combat sports dominance.

The previous month, in January 2024, Ariel Helwani stated that there had been conversations regarding a boxing match between Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal. This is relevant to the topic at hand. There is a strong possibility that the rumored confrontation may take place later on in this year. In addition, Helwani mentioned that Zach Rosenfield, who is Diaz’s representative, did not confirm or refute the reports whatsoever.

Meanwhile, as stated by TMZ, Masvidal refused to issue confirmation or rejection regarding to the probable matchup. This, in turn, has prompted many people to believe that a rematch between Masvidal and Diaz may take place in the near future, albeit not in the mixed martial arts ring but rather in the boxing ring.
