John Lineker, a former bantamweight ONE Mixed Martial Arts world champion, is well known for his participation in vicious fights; thus, it is not surprising that he likes a less intense hobby when he is not competing.
The Brazilian heavy-bomber, when he is not busy knocking out the finest 145-pound fighters in the world, appreciates the simple pleasures in life, such as caring for his horses. Among his other accomplishments, he is considered one of the top heavyweight fighters in the world.
During an interview with ONE Championship, the self-proclaimed animal lover revealed that riding his horses and cheering for them during their races are two of his favorite ways to relieve stress and find consolation.
Even though the author of ‘Hands of Stone’ has a profound respect for all living things, he has shown that he has a special place in his heart for horses:
Since I was 8 years old, I’ve had a fascination with horses. When I was that age, I first began to develop feelings for animals in general, and horses in particular. I have only recently made contact with them. But the horse is a really honest animal, and being around him fills me with a great deal of calm, serenity, and joy.
Who would have guessed that one of the most feared knockout artists in mixed martial arts is also such a kind person outside of the ring?
On the other hand, it is anticipated that Lineker will flip the switch and revert back to his vicious nature on ONE Fight Night 14: Stamp vs. Ham, which will be shown on Prime Video on September 29.
Stephen Loman, the second-ranked bantamweight contender, will be the opponent for the 33-year-old fighter as he attempts to recapture the title he once had but has since lost.
Lineker made his comeback with a fury following a last-second hail mary finish of Kim Jae Woong at ONE Fight Night 13 earlier this month. Lineker had lost his championship to the new kingpin of the division, Fabricio Andrade, but he was determined to get it back.
In the meanwhile, Lineker is making the most of the relative quiet before the impending storm and spending quality time with his treasured horses.
Live coverage of ONE Fight Night 14 will originate from Singapore Indoor Stadium will be broadcast in the United States during primetime. In both the United States and Canada, customers who have a Prime Video subscription are eligible to receive a free stacking card.
