Tagir Khalilov aims to ‘become a legend’ by posing a triple threat in the ONE Championship.

Tagir Khalilov, the flyweight phenomenon and one half of the main event that will take place this Friday night at ONE Fight Night 12 in Russia, is on the cusp of accomplishing something truly remarkable.

It all begins with a victory over Superlek Kiatmoo9, the current holder of the ONE flyweight kickboxing world championship.

The main event of ONE Fight Night 12, which will be streamed live on Prime Video on Friday, July 14, takes place in the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. It features a bout between Khalilov and Superlek. Khalilov has stated that he plans to challenge more prominent athletes in the field if he is successful in defeating the highly recognized Thai great.

In a recent interview with South China Morning Post that took place during fight week, Khalilov disclosed the hit list that, should he be successful in completing it, will establish him as a veritable legend.

The ‘Samingpri’, who is 30 years old, stated:

“You know I don’t care who I fight, so it doesn’t matter if it’s Takeru, Rodtang, or Superlek. I simply want to keep pushing myself to the limit and become a legend while also being number one in the world.
Superlek Kiatmoo9, ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion ‘The Iron Man’ Rodtang Jitmuangnon, and freshly signed Japanese kickboxing veteran Takeru Segawa – that’s like the Mt. Rushmore of Muay Thai and kickboxing. Superlek Kiatmoo9 is a legend in the sport, and Rodtang Jitmuangnon is a legend in the sport. If there is anyone who is capable of achieving this goal, it is most probably Khalilov.

It is obvious that this is an ambitious goal, and in order for ‘Samingpri’ to achieve victory over ‘The Kicking Machine,’ he will need to be at the top of his game on Friday night. Only then will he be able to claim the first part of his conquest.

Fans in the United States and Canada will be able to watch ONE Fight Night 12: Superlek vs. Khalilov on Prime Video for free and live on Amazon Prime Video.
