Switching back and forth between kickboxing bouts and Muay Thai fights is an extremely difficult feat, but Superlek Kiatmoo9 manages to make it look effortless.

“The Kicking Machine” is a master of both kickboxing and mixed martial arts striking styles. In addition to being the top-ranked flyweight Muay Thai fighter in the promotion, he is currently the world champion in flyweight kickboxing for the ONE organization, which he has held for the past year.

This coming Friday, in the main event of ONE Fight Night 12: Superlek vs. Khalilov on Prime Video, the Thai megastar will make a swift return to the ‘Art of Eight Limbs’, where he is unbeaten in seven bouts under the ONE brand.

The 27-year-old fighter put on his four-ounce gloves for the first time against Nabil Anane at ONE Friday Fights 22 just the previous month, where he completely destroyed the towering teenager in a matter of minutes.

Now, Superlek will try to maintain his position at the top of the division’s standings by fending off the challenge of Tagir Khalilov, who is looking to cause an upset.

Superlek was recently interviewed by a promotion located in Singapore, and throughout the course of the conversation, he discussed how he manages to compete in two different types of combat sports, each of which is governed by a unique set of rules.

When it comes to the Kiatmoo9 Gym offering, he doesn’t deviate from what he does best since that’s what he knows best. No matter whether he is competing in Muay Thai or kickboxing, he maintains the same rigorous training schedule:

“Because I am still having fun competing in Muay Thai fights, and I want to keep doing it. Because of this, I won’t have to alter the way in which I work out, therefore there won’t be any problems at all. I continue to train in the same manner in order to get myself ready for Tagir.

Superlek is without a doubt one of the most pure attackers that the world has seen to this day because he has won 10 of his 11 matches that have taken place inside the Circle.

Khalilov will undoubtedly have his work cut out for him when competing against the Thai icon due to the magnificence that he demonstrates in both of these fields, which places him at the top of his division.

On July 14, the ONE Fight Night 12 event will be broadcast live from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok. Prime Video subscribers in North America have unrestricted access to the entirety of this card at no additional cost.
