Superlek claims that he is not even close to being at the top of his game: “I’m still working toward achieving my next belt”

Superlek is of the opinion that he has not yet competed to his full capacity as a fighter.

‘The Kicking Machine’ has established himself as one of the ONE Championship roster’s most gifted attackers over the course of the past four and a half years, establishing himself as a standout in the division. The 27-year-old Thai sensation is not content with his achievements, despite the fact that he has won a world championship and produced an exciting highlight reel.

The current flyweight kickboxing world champion gave the following response when asked about his career in an interview with ONE:

I don’t believe that I have arrived at the pinnacle of my profession just yet. In the Muay Thai category, my goal is to advance to the next belt as soon as possible. If I were to win the ONE Muay Thai world championship, it may be that I would finally feel complete.
In the year 2023, Superlek has been extraordinarily active. He started off by winning the ONE flyweight kickboxing world championship in January, and then he successfully defended his crown in the next two months. Since that time, he has made achieving his long-term goal of winning the ONE Muay Thai world championship his top priority.

The nickname “The Kicking Machine” was earned after ‘The Kicking Machine’ won two of his fights through knockout in a span of just three weeks, late in June to early July. As a direct consequence of this, he has earned the right to take part in a highly anticipated showdown between two Thai superstars.

In the main event of ONE Friday Fights 34, which will take place on September 22, Superlek will compete against Rodtang for ‘The Iron Man’s’ flyweight Muay Thai world title. A bout between them was set to take place earlier this year, but Rodtang was forced to pull out due to an injury of which the nature was not divulged.

One of the most fascinating Muay Thai matchups that can be made in any promotion will, thankfully, not keep the fans waiting for too much longer than they already have to.

The illustrious Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Thailand is the setting for today’s bout between Rodtang and Superlek. North American audiences have the opportunity to watch the entire event live and at no cost on ONE’s official YouTube channel.
