After defeating Ham Seo Hee, Stamp Fairtex became the new atomweight MMA world champion for ONE and is now prepared to defend his title against whoever comes his way.
In point of fact, she is ready to compete with anyone, including potential rivals that she counts among her circle of friends, such as Xiong Jing Nan.
Stamp stated in an interview she gave after ONE Fight Night 14 to the South China Morning Post that she would welcome the reigning ONE women’s strawweight MMA queen if she decided to make the cut to 115 pounds again.
The current world champion in three different sports said:
“Of course, the emotion [of friendship] is there between us… When we are inside the circle, we are competitors, but when we are outside of the circle, we are friends.
Xiong Jing Nan, who also won her special-rules striking fight against ‘Wondergirl’ at ONE Fight Night 14, recently stated that she intends to continue working toward achieving her goal of being a two-division champion champion.
While ‘The Panda’ has nothing but the deepest affection for Stamp, she never lets her personal feelings for the Thai celebrity get in the way of doing business.
It is important to remember that Xiong has tried competing at the atomweight class before, but she was not successful in achieving the results she had hoped for.
At ONE: Century Part 1, the Chinese superstar competed against Angela Lee, a former champion in the atomweight division of ONE.
