Six-foot flyweight Nabil Anane on what he wants to do after beating Superlek

Published:

Nabil Anane, who is making his debut with ONE Championship, doesn’t picture himself competing in the flyweight division of the company for the foreseeable future. After all, the youngest WBC Muay Thai World Champion is measured at 6-foot-2 inches, which makes him tower over everyone else in the 135-pound Muay Thai ranks. In addition, he is the current reigning champion.

Nabil, who is currently 19 years old, is aware that he has a significant amount of additional opportunity for growth and that he will most certainly fill out his already large physique as he matures physically over the next few years. Nabil has stated, in an interview with ONE Championship, that he sees himself competing at a weight of 170 pounds or higher:

“Perhaps around the same weight as Sinsamut [Klinmee] when she was at her lightest. That will work out rather well for me. I believe that the 77-kilogram weight class would be the one in which I would be most interested in competing.
To say that the prospect of the lanky fighter adding weight to his six-foot body is terrifying is an understatement. This is especially true if his skills continue to advance along with his weight gain.

Nabil has proven that he is capable of hanging against opponents who are significantly bigger than he is, as he was observed practicing knees in practice with the ripped Sinsamut at Venum practicing Camp in Pattaya.

His forthcoming debut in ONE will take place at ONE Friday Fights 22 on June 23, and his tremendous height and reach will be of great assistance to him there.

Upon his comeback to Muay Thai, the Algerian star will engage in a leather match with Superlek Kiatmoo9, who has the title of ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion. This fight will be the Algerian’s first in the sport.

Nabil is aware of the benefits that may be gained from the opportunity that is currently before him, despite the fact that competing against Superlek is a challenging endeavor for anyone and especially for someone making their promotional debut.

A stunning victory over the fighter ranked first in the flyweight class catapults him to the top of the Muay Thai rankings and puts him on the short list of potential opponents for the king of the division, Rodtang Jitmuangnon.
