Sage Northcutt felt as though he was making his mixed martial arts (MMA) debut at ONE Fight Night 10 and said, “I had a bit of nerves.”

‘Super’ Sage Northcutt, a phenom in the sport of mixed martial arts who hails from the United States, made his long-awaited comeback to competition at ONE Fight Night 10 in May and was victorious. The 27-year-old fighter was forced to take a break from professional combat for four years while he dealt with the aftermath of a life-threatening injury he sustained in his first fight for ONE Championship in 2019.

Given the length of time he had spent away from the public eye, it is not surprising that Northcutt experienced feelings similar to those of an NBA rookie going to participate in his first game of the regular season. When they were about to enter the Circle, ‘Super’ had a lot of nerves, and it showed in many different ways.

During his appearance as a special guest on the podcast The Spinnin’ Backfist, Northcutt shared his thoughts on what it was like to get back into the ring after an absence of a few months.

The person aged 27 years old stated:

“I believe that the reason I felt any nerves was because it had been so long since I had been out there. Despite this, I was very excited. I couldn’t help but think that it was a lot like how I had felt before my very first battle. [28:55 onwards]

Sage Northcutt made a successful comeback to the Circle by submitting the Pakistani mixed martial arts fighter Ahmed ‘Wolverine’ Mujtaba with a heel hook in under a minute. On May 5th, in front of a sold-out crowd at 1stBank Center in Denver, Colorado, the two faced off on the main card of the historic ONE Fight Night 10: Johnson vs. Moraes III on Prime Video event. The fight featured a head-to-head confrontation between the two.

Fans in the United States and Canada have the opportunity to relive all of the exciting moments from this historic occasion by logging into their Amazon Prime Video accounts.

The submission victory that Northcutt earned was without a doubt phenomenal, and fans can hardly wait to watch him compete again, especially after that showing.
