Rodtang claims that if he hadn’t found Muay Thai, he would have pursued a career as a professional football player instead.

Rodtang Jitmuangnon, better known by his ring as “The Iron Man,” almost certainly would have gone on to play professional football if he hadn’t been exposed to Muay Thai at such a young age.

Fight fans have been speculating about the rematch between Rodtang and his opponent for years, and it will finally take place on September 22. ‘The Iron Man’ will defend his ONE flyweight Muay Thai world championship against ‘The Kicking Machine’ Superlek Kiatmoo9 in a fight that will be broadcast live on televison. This fight will take place later this year, in the fall, as part of the promotion’s ONE Friday Fights 34 event.

Rodtang said in a recent interview with CUTZRADIO, which took place just in front of the highly awaited superfight, that he would have pursued a career in another recognized sport if he hadn’t started training in the art of eight limbs as a boy. The superfight itself is greatly anticipated.

“I hope I’ll make a career out of playing football… mostly due to the fact that I was a member of the football squad before I started boxing. I do not possess a high IQ due to the fact that I have a limited education. I’m not sure what other line of work I might be successful in.”
Take a look at the interview down below:

‘The Iron Man’ possesses an astonishing 271 career wins, including 12-straight victories in Muay Thai under the banner of ONE Championship, making it very clear that Rodtang’s decision to pursue a career in combat sports was a wise one. In September, he will attempt to achieve victory number 13, but this month will provide him with what is possibly the most difficult test of his whole career.

Superlek, who currently holds the title of ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion, will compete against Rodtang in an effort to end the latter’s amazing victory streak and write his own name into the annals of MMA history by winning both of ONE’s kickboxing and MMA world titles.

Who emerges victorious when Rodtang and Superlek finally square off against one another within the circle?
