In a recent episode of the CUTZRADIO podcast in Thailand, ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion Rodtang made an appearance. During his time on the show, he reflected on his humble beginnings as a youngster and shared stories from his past.
It was revealed in “The Iron Man” that he had a challenging existence at a young age due to the fact that he needed to earn money to support his family. Muay Thai became Rodtang’s ticket out of poverty and his family’s ticket to a more secure and satisfying existence for themselves.
He committed his life to “The Art of Eight Limbs,” and the sport acknowledged his dedication by catapulting him to the pinnacle of achievement: he became a world champion and a global superstar while competing for the most prestigious martial arts organization in the world.
throughout the podcast, however, the Jitmuangon Gym representative who is now 25 years old discussed an additional challenge that he had to overcome throughout his childhood: being bullied. Rodtang detailed the several instances in which he was subjected to oppression while he was a young lad.
Rodtang has said that
“Therefore, in order to observe, I walk to the fitness center that is the nearest to my residence, which is 300 meters away. But I couldn’t bring myself to go in there. Back then, I was merely a feeble kid who was frequently victimized by bullies, and I didn’t have any male friends. Because I was usually hanging out with my sisters, I would only play with other female children.
After overcoming these challenges as a child, the “Iron Man” went on to achieve extraordinary success, which included winning all of his striking fights in ONE Championship (both Muay Thai and kickboxing matches). His only loss came at the hands of ONE Flyweight World Champion Demetrious Johnson, who put him to sleep with a choke during their super-fight that was held under special rules.
The next fight for Rodtang is scheduled to be against Superlek Kiatmoo9, and it will take place on September 22 at ONE Friday Fights 34 inside the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. Rodtang will be defending his ONE flyweight Muay Thai world title in this fight.
ONE Friday Fights are shown live and free of charge every week on the official YouTube channel for ONE Championship.
