A battle with Rodtang Jitmuangnon is not high on Superlek Kiatmoo9’s list of priorities.
Both Superlek and Rodtang are widely regarded as two of the most talented and popular Muay Thai competitors in the world. The bout between the Thai superstars was supposed to take place in March of this year, but ‘The Iron Man’ had to withdraw out due to an injury.
As a direct consequence of this, supporters’ daydreams have once again moved to the must-see matchup. ‘The Kicking Machine’ talked about a possible fight against Rodtang in the future during an interview with ONE Championship. He said the following about the bout:
“We believe that there are a lot of other formidable competitors all over the world who are waiting for us.” I don’t think our fight needs to happen right away.”
In the interim, Superlek Kiatmoo9 has shifted his attention to focus on a different adversary. The current holder of the world title in the flyweight class of ONE Kickboxing will step away from that division for the time being in order to concentrate on Muay Thai, in which he has a perfect promotional record of seven wins and zero losses.
Following his victory over Nabil Anane on June 23, ‘The Kicking Machine’ makes a speedy comeback on July 14. Due to the fact that ONE Fight Night 12 on Prime Video need a main event at the last minute, the Thai superstar will now compete against Tagir Khalilov.
The event will take place inside the illustrious Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, and Prime Video users in North America will have the opportunity to watch it live and for free.
On the other hand, Rodtang Jitmuangnon’s most recent match was on May 5, when he successfully defended his ONE flyweight Muay Thai world title by knocking out Edgar Tabares in a spectacular fashion. There has been a lot of talk about ‘The Iron Man’ fighting Takeru Segawa in the first bout that the Japanese superstar competes in for ONE Championship.
