Otto Wallin, a former champion of the International Boxing Association’s continental heavyweight division, recently reviewed the impending boxing contest between Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou and revealed his predictions for the fight.

In the main event of the ‘Day of Reckoning’ card that took place in Riyadh in December of this past year, Wallin fought Joshua for the last time. A stunning performance was put on by ‘AJ,’ who dominated Wallin throughout the entirety of the five rounds. At the conclusion of the fifth round, the Swedish boxer’s camp decided to call it quits, and the fight was ultimately decided by a technical knockout in favor of Joshua being declared.

Almost immediately after their fight, it was revealed that the Englishman would face Ngannou in a ten-round fight on March 8 in Saudi Arabia. The fight would take place in Saudi Arabia. In October of last year, Ngannou made his boxing debut against Tyson Fury, who was the reigning WBC heavyweight champion at the time. While ‘AJ’ is coming off of a resounding victory, Ngannou’s most recent defeat was a split decision.

In a conversation that was conducted exclusively for Sportskeeda MMA, Wallin discussed the upcoming battle between Joshua and Ngannou and offered his predictions. It was him who said:

“Let’s wait and see. It is all about styles, and Ngannou is a powerful individual who is also capable of punching opponents. So Joshua needs to be mindful of the fact that he put Fury down. If Joshua comes out being aggressive like he did with me, I believe that he might knock him out. However, this is dependent on the situation. However, Ngannou is a powerful individual, so it is not going to be an easy task.

Otto Wallin on the Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou boxing match

During the same interview, Otto Wallin discussed his perceptions of the boxing match that took place in October of last year between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou respectively. The Cameroonian boxer was lauded by Wallin for his ability to hold his own against one of the finest heavyweight pugilists in the history of the sport. Wallin expressed his surprise at the Cameroonian’s boxing skills.

Both of the heavyweight juggernauts faced off against one another in the boxing ring on October 28 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. As was noted above, the fight took place in Saudi Arabia. Due to Fury’s extensive resume, many people anticipated that the former UFC heavyweight champion would have a challenging evening. In spite of this, Ngannou managed to surprise Fury by pushing him to his limits.

In the third round, “The Predator” landed the only knockdown of the fight, and in the eighth round, he completely dominated the Englishman fighting against him. It seemed as though ‘The Gypsy King’ had sustained additional damage after the battle. Fury, on the other hand, emerged victorious due to a split decision.

While discussing Ngannou’s outstanding performance against Fury with Sportskeeda MMA, Wallin made the following statement:

There is a need for you to show Ngannou a great deal of respect. I believe that he did a really fantastic job considering that he had basically no previous experience in boxing, and the fact that he had to go 10 rounds with Fury is a really significant feat. In all honesty, I find it hard to believe that he truly did it. For a while, I was under the impression that he was going to be knocked out.
