On the day of his fights, Demetrious Johnson has a unique ritual that he discusses.

This attribute of Demetrious Johnson’s stretches far beyond his time spent competing in the ring, as he has long been considered one of the most clinical fighters in the history of the sport.

One of the most fascinating routines that the current ONE Flyweight World Champion undertakes in preparation for a fight was recently disclosed on his YouTube channel.

Ahead of his third fight, which was to take place at ONE Fight Night 10 in Denver versus Adriano Moraes, Johnson presented some footage from behind the scenes.

Johnson was cleaning up his room and gathering his belongings at the very last minute before he headed over to the 1stBank Center.

In the video that was published on Mighty Gaming, he stated that he started doing this regimen back in 2010 when he was competing in the WEC.

“Packing is one of the habits I’ve created for myself; you could almost call it a fight night ritual. I give my entire room a thorough cleaning. After I finish the battle, I ensure that everything is in working order before moving on. And the reason I do that is because my hand was broken during my fight against Brad Pickett in WEC 48.

Johnson added:

“After the fight, I was sent to the hospital, and when I returned to my room, I found that it was a complete and utter disaster. Because of this experience, I now always make sure that my entire room is packed before I head out to a fight. In this way, the only thing that is required of me is to return, retrieve my luggage, and then proceed to the airport.
When Johnson got back to his hotel room after the fight, he might have finished packing a few more things by the time he got there.

The American great finished his feud with Moraes with a win via unanimous decision, which also earned him a new physical belt for his first defense of the ONE flyweight world championship.

All Prime Video customers in North America have access to a free replay of ONE Fight Night 10, which took place earlier this month.
